Fraser has given him a few new flaws that Edmund lacked Edmund was much more concerned with honor, for one thing but besides these, Sebastian is really a more sinister Edmund, complete with his horror of any sign of indelicacy in women. The thing that made me want to toss the book into the garbage, or at least stop reading, was inconveniemce whole thing with Lucy enjoying sex, but not being able frser climax.
The year before they died, Mother had turned bitter, and she talked to me about her family. The sex was great, and far more varied than I expected from a book which felt quite traditionally regency in tone. Wrong email address or username. However, eventually Lucy did get an orgasm -hallelujah!

But then everyone gets married — first Lucy and James, then Portia and her man and then Sebastian and Anna – and the book kind of changed for me. As a jarriage relation, Lucy inconvenuence on her aunt and cousins to financially assist her and her younger brothers. I did like the second book better though.
I loved this story of poor relation, Lucy Jones, who is secretly engaged to her cousin Sebastian, who asks her to marry him all of a sudden and clear out of the blue.
All the same, James wanted to put his arms around her, as if he could protect her from her past. Still — I am very, very impressed. I didn’t like the heroine Lucy by the end of the book either. Kelli rated it it was ok May 20, I really liked the character of Lucy, she was quite naive in the beginning and I really enjoyed the way the story progressed and how much she grew up and became a much stronger character and came into her own.
Emma rated it it was ok May 17, For all his sweetness, James’s behaviour was slap-worthy, and Lucy was too quick to forgive him. He’s very close to his sister, Anna, who quickly falls for the dashing Sebastian when the families are brought together at a wedding party.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. The numerous family issues that Lucy experienced, and the delicate balance of trust she built with James made this a delightful read. Jul 07, Mclaudia rated it liked it. The novel ended with a “10 years later” epilogue infodump to tell you what happened to them, which is one of od biggest pet peeves ever. The writing wasn’t terrible but the pacing and the plotting needed a lot of work.
